Sustainable Travel at GeoEx

At GeoEx, we craft journeys that are responsible, respectful, and life-enriching. We believe fervently in designing trips that provide meaningful ways for local communities and governments to create sustainable forms of development, which in turn relieve pressure on resources and expand perspectives. Our 40+ years of experience have taught us that, when it’s intelligently done, travel is a net plus for the visitor and the visited alike.

Mindful that other countries and cultures may have different perspectives than ours, we work with local communities to develop appropriate itineraries and safe routing. We seek out responsible hotels, boats, and other transportation, and enlist well-informed local guides, choosing relationships that benefit local communities, wildlife, and wilderness. We adhere to minimum-impact practices both at our offices and in the field, and we educate our travelers about local conditions and customs before they depart.

We’re continually impressed by our guests who return from their GeoEx journeys with a passion to make a difference and the new relationships to do so. They exemplify travel’s remarkable power to transform people and the planet for the better.

THE GEOEX FOUNDATION

Established in 2013, the GeoEx Foundation is a carefully vetted and regularly updated array of conservation, cultural resource protection, education, and health care organizations that we believe make a real difference in preserving the integrity of the destinations we have the privilege of visiting.

The Foundation was formed to facilitate a simple way for travelers to support the communities, wildlife, and ecosystems that make travel so enriching. With a single tax-free donation, 100% of your funds are disbursed to these worthy organizations, supporting important projects all over the world.

SUSTAINABILITY at GeoEx

As a leader in responsible travel, we not only work diligently with NGOs and our representatives abroad to develop and share practices that minimize our footprint and generate meaningful contributions to local economies, we also strive to be environmental leaders in our home community, and support the communities in which we travel. Here are a few highlights.

TOMORROW’S AIR

In partnership with Tomorrow’s Air, GeoEx supports climate action education and connects travelers to carbon removal and permanent storage through direct air capture. Together we form a potentially powerful collective to embrace climate conscious travel and support innovative carbon removal solutions that will be needed alongside our forests, oceans, and soils to absorb and store carbon dioxide.
